KTM Duke 160 Overview

The KTM Duke 160 will basically carry the same sharp and aggressive design language as its other streetfighter siblings. It will be featuring an angular halogen headlight setup with sleek DRLs on the side. The chunkier USD forks and sharp tank cowls will give this streetfighter a muscular look. Its exposed trellis frame will be finished in striking dual-tone colours. The electric orange cast alloy wheels of the new Duke 160 will add a popping effect to its unique design. Once launched it will be one of the most appealing streetfighters in its class.

Powering the KTM Duke 160 will be an all-new 160cc single-cylinder engine derived from the Pulsar N160. However, it will be tuned to deliver more power and torque than its Bajaj sibling. Its engine will use an electronic fuel injection system for fuel supply and it will be equipped with a liquid cooling system as well. This streetfighter will be linked to a 6-speed transmission with a multi-disc wet clutch. KTM Duke 160 is expected to produce 18 hp of peak power and 16 Nm of peak torque. It is expected to deliver a fuel economy of nearly 40 kmpl and it will be able to clock a top speed of around 128 kmph.

KTM will be utilizing the same tried and tested steel trellis frame on this new streetfighter as well. It will be equipped with premium upside-down front forks like the upcoming TVS Apache 220. The KTM Duke 160 will feature 43 mm USD forks at the front end and a WP mono-shock absorber at the rear end. The high-spec suspension system on this streetfighter will be tuned to perform equally well on the tarmac as well race track. For braking duties, it will rely on a 300 mm disc brake with a radially mounted fixed calliper on the front wheel and a 230 mm disc brake with a floating calliper on the rear wheel. The Duke 160 will also get a dual-channel anti-lock braking system as standard with a supermoto mode.

It will be mission out on a LED headlamp setup like its bigger sibling, instead, it will be fitted with a halogen headlight.

KTM Duke 160 Price in India and Launch Date

The news about the launch of the Duke 160 has been doing rounds on the internet but the brand has not yet confirmed any of those. Our Verdict on the KTM Duke 160

The entry-level KTM bikes like the Duke 125 & RC 125 feel quite overpriced against their competitors. The new Duke 160 will help the brand provide a more powerful and value-for-money alternative to the customers. This streetfighter will be sharing the platform with its Bajaj counterpart, but it will boast a lot of premium parts and features. The KTM Duke 160 will be one of the most powerful and feature-loaded streetfighters once it is launched in the Indian market.
