Quite frankly the brand new FZ-09 looks much more appealing than the smaller FZ-07 due to its new twin LED headlight setup and sleeker rear-end design. It uses a lightweight diamond-type frame and the new model also comes with a rear subframe. It is fitted with a fully adjustable 41 mm inverted front fork and a single rear shock absorber with adjustable preload. For braking the Yamaha FZ-09 depends on dual 298 mm disc brakes on the front wheel and a single 245 mm disc brake on the rear wheel. Yamaha has also packed this bike with safety features like ABS and traction control.
It comes with the same inline-3 cylinder, 120-degree crossplane crankshaft engine that promises astounding performance. The Yamaha FZ-09 gets a chip controlled throttle system and it is linked to a 6-speed transmission. While the assist and slipper clutch is a standard feature on this streetfighter, Yamaha offers an optional quickshifter. The 3-Cylinder engine makes 113.4 hp of peak power at 10,000 rpm and 87.5 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The Yamaha FZ-09 get a digital LCD instrument cluster and it comes with 17-inch alloy wheels.
